Job description

Join us as a WebSphere Application Server Engineer where you will be at the forefront of deploying and managing IBM WebSphere Application Server environments, automating processes with advanced scripting, and driving migration of critical applications to the AWS cloud.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Install, configure, and maintain WebSphere Application Server (WAS) environments.

  • Deploy and troubleshoot Java EE applications (WAR/EAR, Servlets, JSPs).

  • Automate tasks and streamline deployments using wsadmin, Jython, and Shell scripting.

  • Lead migration projects to move applications from on-premise WAS to AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • Work closely with development and DevOps teams to ensure reliability and performance.


Critical Success Factors

Mandatory

  • IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) – installation, configuration, and administration.

  • Java EE knowledge – familiarity with Servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSPs), and deploying WAR/EAR files in WAS.

  • Automation & Scripting – using wsadmin, Jython, and Shell scripts for WebSphere management

  • AWS Migration Experience - Hands-on experience migrating WebSphere applications from on-premise to AWS (EC2, containers, or equivalent).

  • CI/CD Tools and Automation

  • Performance Monitoring Tools

  • AWS Service Knowledge
