Job summary

United Overseas Bank Ltd (UOB) is seeking a wealth planning advisor to provide tailored estate and tax planning solutions in collaboration with tax/legal advisors and bancassurance teams.

The role focuses on advising high-net-worth clients, presenting to audiences, and meeting KPIs set by the Head of Wealth Planning. Strong communication and STEP credential are required.

Qualifications

• Strong technical credentials in trust and ability to motivate and communicate.
• Broad base of financial skills relating to tax and estate planning.
• Direct experience with professional advisors and networks.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written, with listening.
• Diplomatic negotiation, flexible and consensus builder.
• Commitment to professional, legal and compliance standards.
• Enthusiastic self-starter with drive to contribute to Private Bank.
• STEP qualification; experience in front office with high-net-worth clients.

Responsibilities

• Advise on solutions independently or with tax/legal advisors.
• Collaborate with UOB PB SCAs, product specialists and Bancassurance to advise on estate planning, succession and tax planning.
• Deliver presentations to internal/external audiences for training or marketing.
• Meet KPIs set by Head of Wealth Planning including targets for insurance referrals.

Job Description

• Advising on solutions independently, as well as in partnership with appropriate tax/legal advisors
• Collaborating with UOB PB SCAs, product specialists and Bancassurance colleagues to provide holistic advice to clients for their estate planning, succession, family office structuring, asset protection and tax planning objectives
• Making presentations to internal and external audiences for training and/or marketing purposes
• Meeting the KPIs and targets set out by the Head of Wealth Planning – including direct personal targets for successful insurance referrals

Professional profile/ areas of expertise

• Strong technical credentials in trust with a demonstrated proficiency for motivation, communication, planning and successful implementation
• Broad base of financial skills relating to tax and estate planning
• Direct working experience with professional advisors within their fields; well-connected in financial and professional communities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills – verbal, written & listening
• Diplomatic negotiating skills, flexible and consensus builder
• Able to establish credibility and instill trust and confidence
• Demonstrates commitment to and complete understanding of professional, legal and compliance standards
• Enthusiastic self-starter. Shows high level of drive and energy, making contribution to the overall success of the Private Bank with conviction
• STEP qualification, experience in a front office capacity working with high-net-worth individuals
