Job summary

Public Service Division seeks an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Shift Operations) to operate a water treatment plant and ensure potable water quality. You will respond to alarms, monitor process deviations, perform sampling, and oversee on-site contractor work.

The role requires a Diploma in Engineering and the ability to work rotating shifts (7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am). Experience in water treatment and SCADA familiarity are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering is required.
• Able to perform rotating shift work (3 shifts: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am).
• Experience in water treatment or process plant operations is an advantage.
• Possession of relevant operational licences or certifications is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Operate water treatment plant and equipment to produce potable water per guidelines.
• Carry out water sampling and laboratory tests to monitor quality and compliance.
• Adhere to SOPs, WSH regulations and Permit-to-Work systems during operations and maintenance.
• Supervise contractors on-site ensuring safety, quality and contractual compliance.
• Collaborate with shift operators and plant teams to ensure seamless handovers and updates.
• Maintain logs and contribute to process improvements and SOP reviews.
