Qualifications

About our client: Our client is a leading global chemical manufacturing company.


About the role: The Packaging Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the packaging warehouse, including supervising contract packaging operators and ensuring that all materials are packaged and handled according to quality and safety standards. This role is also responsible for the coordination of outbound logistics and inventory management to ensure zero-defect deliveries to customers.The Supervisor will play a key role in establishing and maintaining standard operating procedures, safety protocols, training programs, and operational systems to support safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan packaging activities based on production schedules, including batch/lot numbering and type of packaging.
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor the performance of contract personnel.
  • Ensure all packaging operations are conducted safely and according to established procedures.
  • Maintain and regularly update warehouse Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor workplace conditions, housekeeping, and adherence to 5S practices.
  • Investigate and resolve issues, including customer complaints and corrective actions (CARs).
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Support production planning to align packaging activities with production output.
  • Assess packaging operations in terms of quality, cost, and efficiency; recommend improvements where necessary.
  • Manage daily workforce planning for ad-hoc/contract workers.
  • Oversee inventory management for finished goods, packaging supplies, and consumables.
  • Perform system postings for finished products to enable quality assessment and grading.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Production Planning teams to meet delivery and packaging timelines.
  • Monitor usage of packaging and operating supplies to stay within budget.
  • Inspect incoming materials to ensure quality standards are met and update system inventory accordingly.
  • Coordinate with Logistics and Product Management teams on product movement between plant and warehouse.
  • Ensure safe management practices are applied to in-house contractors and their equipment.
  • Support the Technical/Engineering team on facility-related projects and improvements.
About you:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in warehouse or packaging operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices and compliance regulations.
  • Proficiency in warehouse and packaging operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, and packaging equipment.
  • Familiar with freight rates, manufacturing specs, and regulatory guidelines related to material handling.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., GSAP/SAP).
  • Experience in managing packaging materials and ensuring proper utilization.
  • Prior experience auditing external warehouse facilities is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership, supervisory, and team coordination skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across departments
