Job description

Warehouse officer need to ensure that goods are properly stored, handled, and dispatched in an efficient and accurate manner. The role involves overseeing the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring a safe and organized working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Stocks Handling:

  • Monitor stock levels, ensure products are accurately counted, and maintain records of goods stored in the warehouse. Ensure that stock is properly organized and easy to locate.

Receiving Goods:

  • Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, ensuring they match purchase orders and are in good condition. Record deliveries accurately and check for discrepancies or damage.

Storage and Organization:

  • Ensure that goods, wares & supplies and equipment are stored safely and efficiently, following proper labelling and shelving procedures. Organize the warehouse layout for easy access and space optimization.

Order Fulfilment:

  • Picking, packing, and preparation of orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timely dispatch. Ensure that orders are complete and correctly packaged.

Stock Rotation:

  • Implement and maintain stocks, wares, supplies and equipment rotation procedures (such as FIFO—First In, First Out) to ensure older stock is used first and to prevent expiry or obsolescence.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that warehouse operations comply with safety regulations and best practices. Conduct regular safety checks and train staff on proper equipment usage and safety procedures.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, receipts, dispatches, and other warehouse activities. Generate reports for inventory control and management review.
