Job summary

A leading biopharmaceutical company in Singapore is seeking a Warehouse Safety Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to safety regulations and manage hazardous materials. The role requires a Polytechnic Diploma and 8-10 years of relevant experience in a GMP environment. Candidates must possess a 'Hazardous Material License' and complete safety training. The successful applicant will perform safety inspections, maintain compliance documentation, and train staff on safety procedures, contributing to a safe and efficient operational environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 - 10 years of experience in warehouse safety within a pharmaceutical/GMP environment.
  • Possession of relevant certification for 'Hazardous Material License' from SCDF.
  • Completion of WSQ Manage Hazardous Substances course.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with Singapore laws regulating toxic industrial waste and safety standards.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of the warehouse.
  • Manage and maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database for hazardous chemicals.
  • Ensure records of materials are accurate and comply with GMP specifications.
  • Participate in regular safety drills and trainings.

Job description
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
  • Strictly comply with and enforce the relevant laws and regulations of Singapore, including the Environmental Public Health (Toxic Industrial Waste) Regulations, the Fire Safety Act, the Factories Act, the Hazardous Substances Act, and the Arms/Explosives and Weapons Control Act (Regulations on Control of Explosive Precursors).
  • Responsible for daily safety inspections of the warehouse, promptly identifying and reporting potential safety hazards
  • Ensure all safety facilities are in effective condition and regularly inspected
  • Manage and maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database for all hazardous chemicals
  • Drafting and implementing SOPs related to the materials team
  • Master the operational steps and GMP requirements related to receiving, storing, issuing, third-party warehouse business and other modules ticked in the warehouse to ensure the safety of inventory material receiving management.
  • Ensure that records within the scope of responsibility are accurate, complete and in compliance with GMP specifications
  • Ensure that the warehouse material accounts are consistent, that the materials received and issued are timely and accurate, and that the inventory is accurate
  • Perform the investigation and handling of deviations that occur in the warehouse and the implementation of CAPA measures developed
  • Familiar with the warehouse Emergency Response Plan (ERP), able to quickly and correctly take initial response measures in emergencies such as leaks or fires
  • Participate in regular safety drills and training
  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, sales, and EHS departments to ensure smooth and safe supply chain operations
  • Guide and train new colleagues and contractors to ensure their compliance with safety procedures
  • Complete other work assigned by the supervisor
Requirement
  • Polytechnic Diploma or above, majoring in Chemistry, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related fields
  • Min 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in warehouse safety, hazardous materials compliance within pharmaceutical/GMP manufacturing environment
  • Excellent communication skills and team spirit
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high sense of responsibility
  • Must possess: Relevant certification for "Hazardous Material License" issued by the Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF)
  • Valid Forklift Operation License will be a plus
  • WSQ Manage Hazardous Substances course.
  • Certificates such as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO), Dangerous Goods Handling Certification, etc.
