Job summary

An innovative logistics design company is seeking a Warehouse Design Engineer to lead warehouse layout design and implementation. This role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, preparing technical specifications, and coordinating with various stakeholders. Ideal candidates will possess an engineering degree and substantial experience in warehouse systems, along with proficiency in AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Graduate with an engineering degree (civil, mechanical, or industrial preferred).

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design and/or warehouse operations.

Job description

Responsibilities:

1. Design Warehouse: Option analysis, calculations, preparation of layouts, URS/RFQ, vendor offer evaluation, etc.
2. Evaluation & selection of warehouse racking system & equipment.
3. Implement the latest technologies/trends in warehousing (e.g., racking systems, warehouse material handling equipment).
4. Conduct inventory analysis, logistics/truck flow studies.
5. Develop warehouse automation solutions.
6. Implement Warehouse Management System and perform simulations using FlexSim software.
7. Lead and own the process of preparing design deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable codes & standards.
8. Coordinate with clients, project managers, discipline leads/members, and vendors to ensure quality of deliverables.
9. Prepare warehousing calculations for RM/PM/FG pallet positions, racking, material handling equipment, docking areas, etc.
10. Design warehouse layouts including loading/unloading stations.
11. Prepare technical specifications, URS/RFQ for warehouse racking, material handling equipment, dock levelers, weighbridges, etc.
12. Evaluate vendor offers and prepare technical bid analysis.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Graduate with an engineering degree (civil, mechanical, or industrial preferred).
• Experience in warehousing & distribution centers is desirable.
• Experience in conceptualizing, establishing, and running a warehouse is an advantage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design and/or warehouse operations.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
