Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is looking for a seasoned UAT specialist to join the WORC team in Singapore. The role focuses on end-to-end UAT across Cash, Payments, Trade, Loans, and Channels Operations, with emphasis on SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, and CBPR+ standards.

• Minimum 12 years of experience in financial institutions, preferably Cash Management or Payments Operations.
• Strong understanding of SWIFT standards MT & MX, ISO 20022 formats, CBPR+ and cross-border payment flows.
• Solid experience in testing or test management, including UAT planning, execution, and defect governance.
• Proficient in TOSCA or similar enterprise testing tools.
• Familiarity with GenAI tools to improve UAT effectiveness is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present findings clearly to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyse Business Requirements and Functional Specifications / User Stories with focus on cash operations and payment flows.
• Design comprehensive UAT test cases using TOSCA or other bank-approved tools, covering SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022 schemas, and mapping rules.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability between specs and test cases.
• Lead test case walkthroughs with stakeholders; incorporate feedback into final packs.
• Identify scenarios for test automation and collaborate with Automation Lead to build coverage.
• Drive execution of manual and automated tests per UAT plan and timelines.
• Log, track, and manage defects through the lifecycle; participate in defect calls and retesting cycles.
• Review UAT outcomes and publish test metrics; provide go/no-go input for production cutovers.

Job Description

You will be part of the Wholesale Operational Readiness Centre (WORC), responsible for ensuring seamless implementation of technology and process changes across Cash, Payments, Trade, Loans, and Channels Operations. The role focuses heavily on User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and operational readiness, particularly for Cash Management and Payments initiatives.

The incumbent must have strong knowledge of SWIFT MT/MX, ISO 20022, CBPR+, and end-to-end payment processing flows.

Key Responsibilities:

User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Analyse Business Requirements and Functional Specifications / User Stories with specific attention to cash operations and payment flows.
• Design comprehensive UAT test cases using TOSCA or other bank-approved tools, ensuring full coverage across SWIFT MT/MX messages, ISO 20022 schemas, and related mapping rules.
• Ensure end-to-end requirements traceability between functional specs and test cases.
• Facilitate test case walkthroughs with business and operations stakeholders; incorporate feedback into final test packs.
• Identify suitable scenarios for test automation and collaborate with the Automation Lead to build automated test coverage.
• Drive execution of both manual and automated tests according to the UAT plan, ensuring alignment with test strategy and timelines.
• Log, track, and manage defects through the entire lifecycle; participate in defect calls and retesting cycles.
• Review UAT outcomes, publish test metrics, and provide go/no-go input based on operational readiness.
• Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge-case defects or operational gaps.

Payments & Operational Expertise

• Provide domain expertise in Cash Operations, cross-border payments, clearing, settlement, and related operational workflows.
• Validate and troubleshoot SWIFT MT/MX messages, payment mapping, field-level rules, schema validation, and CBPR+ compliance.
• Partner with Product, Technology, and Operations to resolve payment processing issues and ensure readiness for transformation or system migration programs.
• Review system enhancements to ensure operational suitability and compliance with market standards.

Training, Documentation & Readiness

• Deliver operational readiness support for new systems, enhancements, or payment platform changes.
• Conduct training sessions for operations and business users on new functionalities, processes, or payment message updates (MT to MX migration, ISO 20022 changes, etc.).
• Provide post-implementation support and validation to ensure smooth cutover and stable BAU.
• Prepare and submit management reporting as part of the Bank's Software Development Framework (SDF).
