What impact can you make in this role?
You will be a critical contributor to the success of the Data Technology and Operations Masterplan (DTOM) Program that is tasked with simplifying GIC’s operating platform, building critical new enterprise data capabilities, and delivering a platform that is flexible and can scale to meet GIC’s strategic ambition. Your expertise will be essential in bridging the gap between high-level strategic goals and practical, executable plans, ultimately contributing to the firm's architecture transformation and long-term success.

What will you do as a Solution Architect?
The Solution Architect role is part of the newly formed GIC Architecture Practice. This role is responsible for designing and guiding the implementation of innovative operations and technology solutions that meet the needs of the business. Working with the Architecture Practice, DTOM Program, Technology, and Investment Services teams, GIC’s vendor partners, and other business stakeholders your responsibilities are to:

  • Review and interpret business requirement specifications and define associated end-to-end operational and technical solutions covering operating model, applications, data, and integration.
  • Work with application vendors and service providers in the formulation of end-to-end solutions.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to ensure solutions are complete, fit-for-purpose, and meet business needs.
  • Manage the process of solution architecture development within agreed timeframes and ensure compliance with GIC’s North Star, design principles, and relevant policies and standards.
  • Communicate solutions to business stakeholders, project and product teams, application vendors, service providers, and technical teams to ensure understanding and acceptance of solutions.
  • Provide ongoing support and governance during solution implementation to resolve issues, manage any required solution changes, and ensure solutions are implemented as expected to meet business needs.

What makes you a successful candidate?

  • Ideally 10 years (VP) or 14 years (SVP) of solution architecture/business or technical analysis/software engineering experience and minimally 5 years of investment management experience, preferably working for an asset owner, in one of the following areas:
    • Private Markets
    • Public Markets
    • Total Portfolio
    • Corporate Services
  • Ability to develop relationships with and influence senior business and IT stakeholders.
  • Structured thinking, problem solving and innovation skills.
  • Proven structured approach and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably in IT, Engineering, or Science.
