Job Description:

Maybank Securities Singapore (MSSG) is looking for a dynamic and strategic Business Development Lead to join our Retail Business. In this role, you will be spearheading business development efforts, driving acquisitions and external partnerships, exploring and creating growth opportunities within and beyond the Maybank Group ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies focused on acquisition, external partnerships, and wealth.
  • Lead market research and promotional campaigns to launch innovative products tailored for premium clients.
  • Identify and pursue acquisition targets and partnerships to enhance MSSG’s market position.
  • Foster strong connections across Maybank teams and external partners to unlock new business opportunities.
  • Drive alignment with Maybank divisions to maximise cross-sell opportunities and group synergies.
  • Monitor and report the effectiveness of initiatives to inform strategic adjustments.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong ability to develop and implement strategies for business acquisition, external partnerships, and wealth.
  • Expertise in identifying, evaluating, and integrating acquisition opportunities with established books of business and clientele.
  • Exceptional networking skills, with established relationships in the financial services industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of wealth management and brokerage solutions tailored for high net worth and premium clients.
  • Proven ability to align efforts with internal stakeholders across divisions, including Premier Banking, Private Banking, and Product Management teams.
  • Effective in driving intra-group synergies and referral programs.
  • Skilled in interpreting data to measure the impact of initiatives and inform strategic adjustments.
  • Creative approach to product development and market expansion tailored for affluent clientele.
  • Deep understanding of market trends, client needs, and competitive landscapes within the financial sector.
  • Adept at identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to support and help drive business initiatives.

Pre-requisites:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • At least 10–15 years of experience in the financial services industry, with a focus on brokerage, wealth management, or advisory roles.
  • Proven track record of successful strategic planning, acquisitions, and partnership development.
  • Experience in managing or building teams focused on high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) and affluent clientele
  • Work within an environment with high pressure on timeliness and quality of deliveries.
