In Group Operations, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose
This 1st Line of Defence role contributes to the overall risk management and control framework across six core CBGO markets and five brokerage units. The Generalist will lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation efforts, ensuring alignment with the Group's risk appetite across Customer Centre, Self-Service Banking, Retail-Wealth-Brokerage Ops, and Service Provider Governance. This role requires strong collaboration with location and other regional risk units.
Key Accountabilities
Across the units in Group CBGO :
Risk Management & Mitigation: Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation activities, ensuring alignment with the organization's risk appetite. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and report on performance to senior leadership.Control Oversight & Testing: Conduct periodic risk reviews and key risk indicator analysis to ensure the effectiveness of internal controls. Oversee remediation of control gaps.Vendor Management: Drive governance over outsourced service providers (OSPs), including risk assessment, contract management, and performance monitoring. Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations.Risk Culture & Training: Champion a strong risk culture by supporting and training CBGO teams on risk awareness and best practices. Lead risk culture building initiatives.Risk Project Delivery: Contribute to and deliver on risk-related projects & initiatives within agreed timelinesJob Duties & responsibilitiesIdentify, assess and mitigate risks, ensuring alignment with organizational risk appetite through risk reviews, standard assessments, metrics analysis etc. Ensure timely escalations & reporting per Bank & regulatory expectations.Develop framework, metrics and thresholds to support the CBGO risk mitigation programs and escalate emerging or at-risk issues to the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.Drive oversight over Operations/CCTR teams on:- key risk indicators - for effectiveness of internal controls and to ensure risk exposure over the key processes are within risk appetite and comply with the bank's standards.
- key quality metrics - for identifying potential risks/ gaps in processes, reviewing controls for new processes and initiatives and conducting detailed assessments where required.
- outsourced services - and its providers through periodic reviews for their service performance, due diligence activities and timely contract governance.
Assess Gen AI use cases to ensure adherence to Operational Risk Guardrails & Gen AI use case governance flow and other requirements prescribed by the Bank.Collaborate with- Senior management and other regional risk teams to establish risk management goals and objectives. Report on risk management performance and emerging risks to senior leadership.
- Location Risk Managers and oversee risk mitigation programs to remediate control gaps identified from root cause analysis and lessons learnt.
- Other Risk Management teams to support & train CBGO to foster strong risk & control culture and awareness across the CBGO teams.
