Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Barclays Private Bank as VP, Private Bank Wealth Planning Advisor. You will act as the lead Wealth Advisor in Singapore, supporting the Singapore-based Private Bankers with the cross-border succession planning needs of Singapore booked clients. You will provide a broad range of estate planning services to PBWM clients, who hold cash and assets under management with Barclays. This is achieved through analysing the holistic estate planning needs of HNW and UHNW international clients and associated family offices.

By utilising your technical skills and experience, you will provide creative solutions to a broad range of cross-border estate planning client requirements in coordination with each client’s tax / legal advisors. This may include establishing succession planning vehicles (such as trusts or foundations) or providing wealth planning or insurance solutions.

You may be assessed on key skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and job-specific technical skills.

To be successful, candidates should possess the following skills or experience:

  • Excellent tax and/or legal knowledge in succession planning, focusing on clients across Asia
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience from a Private Bank
  • Experience as a wealth planner, trustee, private client lawyer, or tax accountant is highly advantageous

To develop and manage specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise, and bridging product development, marketing, sales, and customer service.

Accountabilities

  • Provide SME expertise on products and services, including features, benefits, limitations, risks, and compliance.
  • Identify market trends, regulatory requirements, and potential risks; analyze sales data and customer feedback to support product development and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and guide product usage.
  • Present product advantages to potential customers to build trust and encourage adoption.
  • Assist in developing marketing materials like brochures, presentations, and online content.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge.
  • Attend events and conferences to showcase products and generate interest.
