Morgan Stanley is seeking a highly motivated trader to join the Global Precious Metals Trading team in Asia hours. You will price and risk-manage precious metals options and volatility exposures, collaborating with global teams to support client activity and grow the precious metals franchise.

The role emphasizes fast-paced front-office trading, strong quantitative skills, and clear communication across trading, sales and structuring.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years in precious metals or commodities derivatives trading.
• Strong understanding of options pricing, hedging, and risk management.
• Experience managing trading positions and market risk in front-office.
• Knowledge of gold, silver, or PGMs preferred.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with volatility awareness.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Quote, price and risk-manage client flow across precious metals volatility markets during the Asia trading session.
• Develop and implement risk-management strategies with the global Precious Metals Trading team to optimize portfolio performance.
• Manage trading positions and market exposures with disciplined risk oversight and timely execution.
• Support development of the precious metals franchise across institutional investors, hedge funds, asset managers, banks and other market participants.
• Collaborate with Trading, Sales and Structuring teams to identify opportunities and deliver client solutions.
• Contribute to trading strategies, pricing frameworks and risk-management tools.
• Monitor market developments, volatility, regulatory changes and client trends in precious metals markets.
• Coordinate with Risk, Compliance, Operations and control functions to stay within risk limits.
