About the Role Our partner is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to lead and manage their Operations function, overseeing key processing teams across Markets, Trade Services, Credit Operations, and Wealth Operations. The role combines strong people leadership and project management responsibilities, playing a critical role in shaping operational strategy and driving efficiency across the branch. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of banking operations, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for continuous improvement and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operational activities to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
Lead four specialized teams handling Treasury, Trade Finance, Loans, and Private Banking operations.
Identify process inefficiencies and operational gaps, and implement robust controls and process enhancements.
Spearhead transformational and improvement projects to drive operational excellence.
Collaborate closely with team leaders to identify skills gaps and training needs, fostering a culture of learning and development.
Mentor and motivate staff to ensure high performance and alignment with organizational objectives.
Serve as the escalation point for operational issues, resolving them swiftly and effectively.
Requirements
Minimum 12 years of experience in Banking Operations, with deep expertise in any of the domains.
Proven experience managing large, diverse teams and driving people development initiatives.
Strong track record in process optimization, change management, and project delivery.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and lead through change.
Effective communication skills in both English and Chinese (to liaise with Mandarin-speaking counterparts at HQ).
