Job Description

As Vice President in Banking Operations for Global Markets, you will lead and oversee operational functions supporting the firm's trading activities across Precious Metals, Commodities, Credit, Equity, and Listed Derivatives. This strategic role is pivotal in ensuring robust post-trade processing, risk mitigation, and operational excellence within the Derivatives Department. The role also includes driving innovation through the application of Generative AI (GenAI) to enhance operational efficiency, data analysis, and decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Oversight: Manage a team of operations professionals, providing strategic direction, coaching, and performance management to ensure high standards of delivery and control.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee trade lifecycle processes including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation across multiple asset classes.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key liaison between front-office trading desks, risk, finance, compliance, and technology teams to resolve complex issues and drive business outcomes.
  • Risk & Control: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks. Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
  • Process Innovation: Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, enhance automation, and improve operational efficiency through technology and process reengineering.
  • GenAI Integration: Champion the use of Generative AI tools and platforms to:
    • Automate repetitive tasks and document generation.
    • Enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
    • Support predictive analytics for exception management and risk identification.
    • Improve knowledge management and training through AI-driven content creation.
  • Change Management: Support new product launches, regulatory changes, and strategic projects by providing operational expertise and ensuring readiness.
  • Governance & Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on operational performance, risk metrics, and strategic initiatives.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, FRM) is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in banking operations, with significant exposure to Global Markets and Derivatives.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing high-performing teams and complex operational environments.
  • Deep understanding of derivatives products and post-trade processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with industry platforms (e.g., Murex, MarkitWire) and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in applying Generative AI technologies in financial operations.
