Position Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President, Human Resources (VP, HR) to lead the human resources function across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
Based in Singapore, reporting to CEO in Hong Kong, this pivotal role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive HR strategies that align with our global business objectives and foster a high-performance culture across APAC operations.
You shall be be a key member of the leadership team, working closely with the CEO and other senior executives to drive organizational effectiveness, talent development, and employee engagement throughout the region. This role requires a hands-on leader with a strong understanding of diverse APAC labor laws and cultural nuances, and a proven track record of building and scaling HR functions in a fast-paced, global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic HR Leadership & Partnership:
Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs that support the overall business goals and growth objectives of the APAC region.
Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior leadership team on all HR-related matters, providing strategic insights and recommendations.
Collaborate with global HR counterparts to ensure alignment of HR initiatives and best practices across the organization.
Drive organizational design and development initiatives to optimize structure, roles, and responsibilities for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
2. Talent Acquisition & Management:
Develop and implement robust talent management programs, including performance management, succession planning, and career development frameworks.
Lead initiatives to identify, assess, and nurture high-potential employees to build a strong talent pipeline.
3. Total Rewards & Compensation:
Design and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract, motivate, and retain employees across diverse APAC markets.
Conduct regular market benchmarking and analysis to ensure the competitiveness and fairness of our total rewards offerings.
Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local regulations.
4. Employee Relations & Engagement:
Promote a positive and inclusive work environment, fostering strong employee relations and engagement.
Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the employee experience.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives throughout the APAC region.
6. HR Operations & Compliance:
Ensure full compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and reporting requirements across all APAC countries of operation include Japan, Korea, Taiwan.
Oversee HR systems and data management, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of HR operations.
Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures that are compliant, fair, and transparent.
Manage HR budgets effectively and efficiently.
7. Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team not less than 25 across the APAC region.
Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role overseeing a significant regional or global HR function.
Proven experience working in a global organization, preferably within the retail, consumer goods, or eyewear industry.
Extensive experience with APAC labor laws, cultural nuances, and HR best practices across multiple countries in the region China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia).
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic HR initiatives that drive business results.
Strong expertise in all HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, talent management, compensation and benefits, learning and development, employee relations, and HR operations.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing HR team.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
Ability to travel frequently within the APAC region as required
