Job description

Description of Department

Marex Solutions is a division of Marex specialising in the manufacture and distribution of customised derivative products on Equities, Commodities, Credit, FX, Funds, Fixed Income, and Digital Assets. These products are distributed to customers through two specialist channels: Hedging Solutions and Financial Products.

Role Summary

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Growing the commodity client franchise by originating new clients via personal contacts, networking events, and collaboration with internal partners such as brokers.
  2. Providing high-quality sales coverage across APAC (ex-Australia) for OTC Commodities, including quoting, deal execution, and market colour provision.
  3. Co-ordinating KYC/onboarding and Credit approvals for new clients.
  4. Focusing on Southeast Asia, with occasional trips to surrounding countries for business development.
  5. Managing 1-2 junior team members depending on business needs.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Direct sales experience in OTC commodity derivatives with a proven PNL track record.
  • Familiarity with financial derivatives (futures, swaps, options).
  • Knowledge of commodity underlyings, especially energy (oil, coal, emissions).
  • Understanding of onboarding/credit approval procedures and legal documentation.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to develop and manage a direct client base.
  • Team player with collaborative skills to work with internal stakeholders.
  • Strong risk and compliance ethic, adhering to company policies and regulations.
  • Knowledge of one or more Asian regional languages is a plus.
