Job summary

United Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is building an Enterprise AI capability to design, develop, and deploy GenAI solutions across business units, delivering measurable outcomes. As a key team member, you will collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, technology and business units to evaluate and deliver AI-driven use cases, and to develop plans aligned with strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in statistics, math, engineering or CS with quantitative reasoning.
• 8+ years of advanced data science experience, preferably in banking/fintech.
• Proven record building AI apps using transformer models and LLM deployment.
• GenAI related thesis/publications highly preferred.
• Demonstrable expertise in Agentic AI / Multimodal generation preferred.
• Strong Python programming and large data handling abilities; proficient with PyTorch and LangChain.

Job Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be a key member of the Enterprise AI team, partnering with stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy AI and GenAI solutions across business and support units, delivering impactful outcomes.

Your main responsibilities are to:

• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, technology and business/support units, to evaluate, solution and deliver AI and GenAI driven business use cases.
• Develop and successfully execute plans aligned with strategic project and business objectives.
• Develop performant AI and Gen AI capabilities through thoughtful research and experimentation.
• Develop and deploy AI and Gen AI applications with agile prototyping.
• Integrate AI and Gen AI capabilities and applications into the bank’s ecosystem.
• Stay abreast of fast emerging AI and Gen AI technological advancements, industry best practices, architecture, software resources and paradigms.
• Engage and manage stakeholder interactions and expectations.
• Provide deep expertise and advisory on AI and Gen AI to diverse stakeholders.
• Contribute to AI and Gen AI related validation, guardrail and benchmarking exercises.

Qualifications:

• Min Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, with ability to reason quantitatively from first principles. GenAI related thesis/publications highly preferred.
• Achieved consistent success in framing rigorous and data driven approaches to solve highly complex business use cases or academic problems.
• Min 8 years of advanced data science working or research experience, preferably in banking / financial services / quant / consulting industry.
• Self-motivated team player, able to ideate innovative solutions and work independently.
• Proven record in developing AI applications using transformer models, boosting models, and other advanced techniques.
• Highly skilled and successful in end-to-end LLM deployment, with 1.5 years full-time experience. Demonstrable achievements is a must.
• Demonstrable expertise and experience in adjacent topics such as Agentic AI /Visual /Audio /Multimodal generation highly preferred.
• Python programming and large data handling abilities. Highly skilled with common data science and LLM packages such as Pytorch and LangChain.
• Experienced in general end-to-end data science solution delivery and assorted tools.
• Ability to communicate analytic findings clearly and convincingly to business.
• Skillful in agile project management practices.
• Experience with data visualization packages and/or tools a plus.
