Job description

As an experienced professional joining the India Finance Strategy Execution team at HSBC, you will play a crucial role as a Finance Chief Control Officer. In this position, you will be responsible for various key functions in alignment with the objectives set by the Country CFO, Regional CFO, and Regional Finance Head of Strategy and Execution.

Your main responsibilities will include supporting the operational running of the Country Finance function, delivering change initiatives, driving process excellence, monitoring, analyzing, and controlling costs for the Finance function, as well as ensuring a robust control framework aligning with the approved Governance structure for Finance. It is essential for you to have a strong understanding of group Financial control and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, along with basic accounting controls and reconciliations knowledge.

In your role as Chief Control Officer (CCO), you will conduct Risk and Control Assessments (RCA) to provide proactive advice based on risk and control knowledge. You will prepare Risk and Control Dashboards, monitor and publish Data Quality reports, and publish Heat Risk Maps to identify trends and anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for liaising with Risk and Control owners, updating Risk Map system, monitoring open issues, and conducting Finance governance forums.

You will also be involved in delivering change initiatives, driving process excellence, and working with risk and control owners to simplify processes, transform them using digital tools, and ensure robust controls. Furthermore, as part of the Business Information Risk Office (BIRO), you will be responsible for activities related to End User Computation, physical/floor access review, Business Continuity Plans, Data Loss Prevention, and more.

To be successful in this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or a related discipline) with Post Graduate Qualifications highly regarded. You should have over 10 years of working experience in the Banking/Finance industry, knowledge of advanced digital tools, strong interpersonal skills, excellent stakeholder management abilities, and the capacity to work effectively under pressure with rapidly changing priorities. Additionally, you should be self-motivated, have strong communication skills, and demonstrate a detailed understanding of financial data flow and processing needs.
