Business Function
Group Operations enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, people capability and innovation. In Group Operations, we manage the majority of the Bank’s operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through multiple banking delivery channels.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily Trade Finance transactions authorization and or provide second level check (Import/Export/SBLC issuance)
- Oversee day-to-day operations, analyze Department processes to improve quality, productivity and efficiency
- Execute strategic planning on team resources for optimal and operational efficiency
- Establish duty rosters for processors and authorizers, allocate and distribution Ready-to-process transactions to respective processors at beginning of day
- Monitor and perform controls on entries reconciliation, investigation and follow-up on ad-hoc matters
- Responsible for identifying and making right decisions to resolve operational issues and ensure timely escalation to Section Head of STO and HOD.
- Assist Section Head of STO in ad-hoc projects and ensuring that the assigned tasks are completed within stipulated time frame
- Participate in assigned UAT and LV for system enhancement and implementation
- Implement effective operational processes and procedures
- Provide guidance and training to staff to ensure Department SOP, Bank’s policies and guidelines are strictly adhered to
- Lead and motivate team to achieve the Goals (KPI) that have been set
Requirements:
- Degree holder from a recognized University
- Minimum 10 years working in Trade Finance Operations within a bank, with at least 3 years of experience in managing a teamin the Structured and Commodity Finance environment covering all Trade Finance products (Import/Export/SBLC issuance)
- Goodworking attitude and positive mindset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization and demands of both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to make strategic planning for team resources and manage e-Performance
- Have extensive knowledge in Trade Finance products and regulatory sanction requirements
- Ability to work effectively and independently as an individual as well as in a team
- Ability to coach and guide team to ensure Department SOP, Bank’s policies and guidelines are adhere to
- Ability to develop, implement and review policies and procedures
- Ability to exercise sound judgement on transaction monitoring and escalation of red flags
- Ability to leverage on MS Office applications (Excel, Words, Power Point)
- Strong logical and problem-solving skills.
- Conversant & competent in application of UCP600, ISBP, URC522, ISP98, URR725 and Incoterms.
- Proficient in SWIFT messages such as MT7xx, MT4xx, PAC8 and PAC9
- Work cohesively to build alliances and partnerships with Structured Trade Middle Office (STMO), Regional Trade team, Business Units (RM and GTS) and other stakeholders
