Voice Engineer Job Description
As a Voice Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting Network and Telephony infrastructure, managing and delivering Network / Telephony projects in Asia within proposed budgets and timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and support network / telephony infrastructure, including IP telephony, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Trader Voice (BT/IPC), Cisco Expressway services, Voice recording systems, Mobile Voice services in Asia/Pacific.
- Ensure and enhance Asia Pacific Network and Telecom services align with business requirements in terms of stability, resilience, and performance.
- Monitor voice system performance, capacity, and call quality, optimizing as necessary for high availability and user experience.
- Develop and maintain documentation for voice systems, including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans for voice infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex voice-related issues and implement solutions promptly.
- Manage vendor relationships for voice hardware, software, and services.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on voice systems and features.
- Manage product lifecycles for voice platforms.
- Ensure global standards and best practices are implemented across all network infrastructure.
- Maintain proper documentation of technical systems.
- Provide escalation support and advanced troubleshooting for critical voice platform issues.
- Manage regional network project implementations.
- Streamline operational workflow processes.
- Provide consultation and operational support to business and IT units.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of technical and voice operation experience in investment banking, financial institutions, or large enterprises.
- Extensive knowledge of Cisco Call Manager Configuration and Cisco Unity.
- Experience with trader voice platforms (BT ITS platform) and voice recording platforms.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, QoS, and VoIP protocols (SIP, H323, RTP, SRTP).
- Experience with SIP trunking and PSTN connectivity.
- Familiarity with voice security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of QoS implementation for voice traffic.
- Regional project implementation experience.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment, both individually and as part of a team.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
