Job summary

The National Library Board invites students from all disciplines to take part in a 6–9 month internship focused on video analytics and data science. You will design training datasets, annotation guidelines, and SOPs for the training pipeline, and develop user guides and technical references.

You will assist in iterative training, validate outputs against performance benchmarks, and contribute to end-to-end reviews of the workflow to enhance the system development pipeline.

Qualifications

• Open to students from all disciplines; background in data analytics/data science or statistics encouraged.
• Strong command of English.
• Meticulous in work.
• Basic understanding of machine learning and computer vision concepts.
• Familiarity with video analytics or image processing principles preferred.
• Duration: 6-9 months.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop training datasets, annotation guidelines, and SOPs for the algorithm's training pipeline, including labelling standards, edge case handling, and quality control checklists
• Develop user guides and technical reference materials
• Assist in the iterative training and testing of the video analytics algorithm, including preparing and processing video data, running training cycles, and validating model outputs against defined performance benchmarks
• Support regular performance reviews of the algorithm across different scenarios and environments
• Conduct an end-to-end review of the existing video analytics workflow, documenting findings and proposing recommendations to enhance the overall system development pipeline
