Overview

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Treasury Dealer to join our Corporate Treasury team. This role is located in Singapore.

The Corporate Treasury Group at BNY is responsible for managing capital, liquidity and market risks to ensure that BNY has the resources to accomplish its business strategies and meet regulatory requirements in business as usual and stress.

This Treasury Dealer will be a key member of the APAC Funding desk and will be responsible for managing the balance sheet and liquidity across the BNY banking entities. Responsibilities include deploying liquidity in suitable/approved instruments with the goal of optimizing revenues and reducing balance sheet costs whilst maintaining compliance to all internal and regulatory requirements and balance sheet constraints.

The Treasury Dealer role is based in Singapore and reports to the Head of APAC Funding, International Treasury.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

Responsibilities
  • Management of surplus firm liquidity by deploying funds in suitable short term money market instruments including, interbank placements, FX swaps, repos, central bank placements and intercompany placements.
  • Funding and liquidity management in compliance to all internal and external regulatory limits including LCR, NSFR, Internal Liquidity Stress Testing, Volcker limits, market risk limits, credit limits, capital limits etc.
  • Day-to-day oversight of legal entity’s liquid asset buffer requirements and testing of sources of liquidity identified in legal entity contingency funding plans.
  • Managing market and liquidity risk arising in the banking book working closely with ALM / Balance Sheet Management functions to optimize liquidity, IRRBB and capital requirements.
  • Ensuring strong systems, controls and processes in place, including adhering to trader mandates and desk procedures
  • Collaborate with Lines of Business on Liquidity and Balance Sheet Management topics. Work closely with Intraday Liquidity, Finance, Middle Office, Office of Regulatory Relations and Operations, as appropriate. Frequent interaction with external parties, including market counterparties, CCPs and central banks.
  • Support the APAC Funding team in driving team and firm strategies to deliver on objectives and efficiencies.
  • Assist with projects and other deliverables relating to Treasury Dealing and/or other Corporate Treasury activities, including regulatory presentations/requests, strategic initiatives, etc.
  • Follow business, market and regulatory developments that may impact our operating environment. Regularly provide senior management with relevant market colour and analysis.
  • Support in addressing APAC Funding Audit or Second Line findings/actions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor/Master degree or equivalent qualification. Degree in finance or economics, with proficiency in Math, Statistics, or Computational Finance preferred. MBA, CFA or Accounting Qualifications preferred.
  • Bank or broker-dealer treasury dealing experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets and experience trading treasury products.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly motivated with an ability to influence and present to internal stakeholders.
  • Passion for financial markets with an understanding of their geopolitical and macro-economic drivers.
