Job summary

Kerry Consulting is seeking experienced software engineers for a financial institution client. You will own technology initiatives from discovery through implementation and ongoing production support, working closely with business and technology stakeholders to define scope and test concepts through rapid experimentation.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience including ownership through development, deployment and production operation.
• Hands-on experience using coding agents or building AI-enabled development workflows across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Proficiency in at least two contemporary programming languages.
• Ability to adopt new technologies as required.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, messaging, CI/CD, testing, observability and application security.
• Comfort working in regulated or highly controlled environments with limited or evolving requirements.

They are looking for experienced software engineers who combines strong engineering fundamentals with a product-oriented approach to problem solving. Role

You will take ownership of technology initiatives from early discovery through implementation and ongoing production support. Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will help define scope, test concepts through rapid experimentation, and translate successful ideas into resilient production solutions. A key part of the role involves incorporating AI-assisted and agent-based engineering practices across areas such as requirements analysis, software development, testing, deployment and operations, while also contributing to reusable engineering tools and workflows. Depending on the problem, you may work with distributed architectures, event-driven systems, container orchestration, APIs and performance-sensitive communication technologies. You will also establish appropriate engineering controls around testing, release processes, monitoring, security, documentation and operational support.

Requirements

You should have at least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including demonstrable ownership of applications or platforms through development, deployment and production operation. Hands-on experience using coding agents or building AI-enabled development workflows across multiple stages of the software delivery lifecycle is important. You should be proficient in at least two contemporary programming languages, and be comfortable adopting new technologies where required. Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, messaging, CI/CD, testing, observability and application security is expected, together with the judgement to choose appropriate levels of architectural complexity. The role suits someone who can work effectively without fully prescribed requirements and is comfortable operating in regulated or highly controlled environments. Exposure to financial markets protocols, developer platforms, agent frameworks, internal engineering tooling or front-end development would be useful but is not essential.
