Job summary

Singapore Exchange Limited is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team in Singapore. The role emphasizes delivering end-to-end solutions, from idea to production, with a focus on AI-native workflows and agent-oriented architectures.

Ideal candidates will have strong backgrounds in multiple modern languages and a solid understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and messaging, along with a production mindset covering testing, observability, and security.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience and a track record of taking work from idea to production.
• Experience orchestrating coding agents and agentic workflows across specification, build, test, deploy, and operation.
• Fluency in at least two modern languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Python, Rust).
• Solid foundations in distributed systems, APIs, and messaging.
• Production mindset across testing, observability, security, and CI/CD.
• Ability to shape scope rather than waiting for a complete spec.
• Comfort in complex, regulated environments.

• 5+ years of professional software engineering, with a clear track record of taking work from idea to production and owning it there
• AI-native ways of working: real experience orchestrating coding agents and composing agentic workflows across specification, build, test, deploy, and operation
• Fluency in at least two modern languages (e.g. Java, Kotlin, TypeScript, Python, Rust) and willingness to learn whatever a problem demands
• Solid foundations in distributed systems, APIs, and messaging, with judgement about when sophistication is warranted
• Production mindset across testing, observability, security, and CI/CD
• Product instinct: comfortable shaping scope rather than waiting for a complete spec
• Comfort in complex, regulated environments

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with the FIX protocol or capital-markets domain
• Experience building internal developer tools, agent frameworks, or platform tooling
• Front-end experience to support end-to-end prototyping
