About The Position

We have a great opportunity to join our Portfolio Management (PM) team as Vice President (VP), a new function within ING Lending franchise in Singapore. This is a mid-level lending professional role within the front office. As a key member of the PM team, your responsibility will be to actively manage the lending portfolio in Asia Pacific and optimize returns through strong analytics and capital velocity. You will work with colleagues from sector-based origination teams, specialized and corporate lending Transaction Management, Capital Markets & Advisory (particularly Loan Distributions), Risk and Legal, aligning with back office/support teams. The PM team also plays a key role in optimizing processes for regulatory readiness, operational effectiveness, and portfolio optimization.

Job Responsibilities
  1. The PM team is the center of excellence for the in-life management of ING's lending exposure, covering activities from post-funding to final repayment. It collaborates with sector-based origination & structuring, transaction management, and other product specialists to ensure a seamless client experience. The team supports credit monitoring, analytics, risk reporting, and the delivery of ING's capital velocity targets, aided by Global Lending Support in Dublin and the ING hub in the Philippines. It also drives process improvements, standardization, and digitalization across Lending.
  2. As a VP, your specific responsibilities include managing your portfolio files, conducting periodic credit reviews, processing amendments and waivers, preparing credit modifications for Risk approval, reviewing risk ratings, and proactive credit monitoring. You will identify early warning signals for credit deterioration and participate in capital velocity initiatives like loan sales, credit risk insurance, securitization, and risk transfers.
  3. You will monitor market developments and manage their impact on your portfolio by preparing reports for regulators and stakeholders, maintaining databases, tracking metrics, and coordinating with offshore teams. Managing lending limits and capital velocity programs is also part of your role.
  4. You will actively participate in Virtual Client Teams, engaging with relationship managers and sector specialists to discuss credit trends and opportunities, contributing to cross-buy initiatives.
  5. Building a culture of operational excellence is essential. This includes staying updated on policies, contributing to strategic initiatives, improving credit monitoring processes, supporting transformation projects, and coaching junior colleagues.
Qualifications / Education
  • University degree in business, economics, law, or relevant discipline. CFA and/or MBA are a plus.
Experience / Knowledge
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in lending execution or credit analysis within banking.
  • Experience in specialized lending (project, object, acquisition finance) and/or real asset sectors (energy, infrastructure, transportation, logistics, telecom, tech) is advantageous.
