Job description

This position is responsible for driving operational excellence and improving efficiency across the Asia-Pacific region. As Vice President of the Operations Planning Group, you will lead the operation planning and execution of initiatives aimed at strengthening governance and optimizing business processes. The role also involves developing standardized operational practices for overseas offices, supporting regulatory compliance, and enhancing risk management frameworks. These initiatives will be delivered in close collaboration with the Head Office and other key stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness across the APAC region
  • Develop and implement standardized operational procedures and frameworks for overseas offices
  • Strengthen regional governance in line with Head Office policies and standards
  • Support regulatory compliance by working closely with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as IT, risk, legal, and compliance, to ensure the successful execution of strategic initiatives
  • Act as a key liaison between regional offices and the Head Office to ensure alignment of business strategies and execution
  • Contribute to the enhancement of risk management practices, including further development of Third-Party Risk Management across the region

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Approximately 10-15 years of experience in banking, financial services, or a similar industry
  • Practical experience in operations planning, business process improvement, or project coordination, ideally in a regional or global context
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese is highly preferred as this position requires close communication with Head Office in Japan
  • Solid understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management practices, mainly Operational Risk Management, including TPRM, Outsourcing, Processing Risk, etc.
  • Comfortable working with diverse teams across functions and geographies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to take ownership while working independently or as part of a team
  • Capable of working across multiple functions in a fast-paced, international environment
