Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the Group Wholesale Banking (“GWB”) – Anti Financial Crime & Business Risk and Control Management (AFC & BRCM) team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Formulate and strengthen governance on all risk frameworks, ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, particularly anti-financial crimes.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify priority areas for review based on control criticality, emerging risks, and regulatory focus.
  • Provide effective challenge to internal stakeholders on existing controls.
  • Review Business Units policies and guidelines.
  • Work with multiple internal stakeholders to deliver desired outcomes.
  • Identify key emerging risks in GWB and propose risk mitigating measures/controls.
  • Ensure communication of potential risk issues highlighted by various Bank’s risk functions.
  • Coordinate activities with Group Compliance and other internal risk departments to improve overall effectiveness.
  • Work with BU/GWB Data Analytics on risk management initiatives.
  • Support Business Units in risk identification, escalation, and remediation.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of Business Units controls.
  • Prepare risk management reports.
  • Exercise oversight of BRCMs in overseas locations.
  • Articulate and present to senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Keep GWB updated on the latest developments in risk and regulatory matters.
  • Conduct training where necessary.
  • Provide secretariat support to the Management.
Job Requirements
  • Degree or professional qualification in business or banking/financial services related areas.
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant work experience, preferably in audit, regulatory compliance, or Line 1 Risk and Control role in corporate banking.
  • Proven experience in compliance within a financial services institution.
  • Strong compliance background and knowledge of banking laws & regulations.
  • Knowledge of local financial crime regulatory framework of South East Asia region is an advantage.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Resourceful, meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently.
  • Growth mindset and creativity in finding solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence decisions and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Process-oriented with a strategic mindset.
  • Certification in anti-financial crimes, programming, data management, and data analytics is preferred.
