Responsibilities
  • Bringing in mandates of financing and advisory business by conducting market and industry analysis and evaluating and analysing the financial needs of both Japanese and local clients across Asia
  • Build relationship with and bringing in financing and advisory business from Japanese corporates by leveraging strong relationship that Nomura has developed in Japan along with any other applicable quantitative and qualitative analysis; Identifying and developing business opportunities, drive presentations and client relationship development
  • Bringing in services to promote business between Southeast Asia countries and Japan;
  • Work with management team in driving and executing transactions, oversight on due diligence and valuation; Responsible for the development of valuation models, pro-forma financial statements and comparable company analysis, etc. to perform asset valuations;
  • Drafting documentations including engagement letters, bid letters, scheme booklets, bidders and targets statements, information memorandums, prospectuses.
  • Training juniors on financial modelling and pitch books.
Requirements
  • Minimally a Master’s degree either in Economics or Finance from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in client relationship development, covering network and client relationships with senior key management of Japanese Corporate Clients, with track record of financing and advisory deals across key sub-sectors (Consumer Retail, Healthcare, TMT, Industrials, Real Estates and Energy and Utilities). This would include subsidiaries of the Japanese and Local Corporates across Southeast Asia. Has the ability to bridge and cross-sell customized Japan financing solutions to Singapore and Southeast Asia clients
  • Professional fluency in both written and verbal communication skills in Japanese is essential as this role would require constant interaction with Japanese-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions and the Japan Headquarters
  • Has knowledge in Equity Finance business and experience in proposing and executing projects.
  • Fluent in key drivers and performance measures of all major sectors experienced in driving and leading on pitches and execution work streams
  • Has experience in team management or mentoring; to coach and develop junior talent bench strength
  • Profound understanding of Japanese business culture and proven ability to build relationships across layers in client institutions
