A leading company in Singapore is seeking an experienced finance professional for the role of Vice President – Entity Control. The ideal candidate will manage finance operations, oversee financial reporting, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. This leadership position requires a strong background in finance, excellent communication skills, and a capability for driving process improvements within a fast-paced environment.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced finance professional to join the Finance team as Vice President – Entity Control focusing on the front-to-back trade flow including trade booking and revenue recording. Other key responsibilities include:
1. Month End Close
· Perform day-to-day finance operations, which include recording financial transactions in the ledger and account reconciliations.
· Drive the timely Month End Close process including journal preparation
· Monitor and review accounting reports for accuracy and completeness. Reconcile and resolve any accounting discrepancies
· Apply professional judgement to identify accounting treatments adopted in financial statements and assess their suitability and acceptability
2. Financial Reporting
· Oversee timely and accurate preparation of statutory financial statements and group reporting in compliance with IFRS and regional listing standards (monthly, quarterly and yearly)
· Ensure audit readiness and liaise with external and internal auditors
· Drive continuous improvement of reporting processes and financial controls
· Present key financial updates and insights to senior management
3. Risk Management & Compliance
· Ensure adherence to internal controls, risk management practices, and international financial regulations.
4. Operational Excellence
· Drive process improvements and technology adoption to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.
· Lead initiatives to integrate financial processes across the Group, ensuring consistency and scalability.
5. Others
· Participate in and co-ordinate various Finance workstreams of the Company’s Tech Transformation project
· Participate in ad-hoc tasks/projects in support of department or Company’s initiatives.
Knowledge / Experience Required:
· Degree in Accountancy or Finance, Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification
· At least 10 years of relevant experience in either Product Control, Financial Control or Financial Reporting in major banks or financial institutions
· Strong working knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards (FRS) and accounting principles
· Finance System transformation / Project Management experience would be desirable
· Familiarity with Trade booking/Finance systems including Sentry, Quantum and FIS
· Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
· Independent and confident in engaging senior management
