Job Summary
The position requires an independent leadership role to deliver on Credit Risk Insurance business initiatives and to continue growing placement volumes in Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a robust operational and compliance framework for the Insurance business, ensuring adherence to HO and APAC regulations and internal guidelines.
- Monitor and ensure the timely execution, reporting, filing, and completion of compliance activities as per the Insurance Manual.
- Handle all solicitation, execution/placement, monitoring, and reporting related to Credit Insurance for SMBC in Asia Pacific (trade and non-trade) and East Asia (non-trade).
- Lead transaction distribution and provide structuring inputs to maximize underwriter interest and facilitate successful market placement.
- Manage relationships with credit risk insurance and surety teams of brokers and underwriters.
- Coordinate with front office, credit, legal, compliance, and global insurance teams.
- Assist the front office in claims recovery on insured transactions.
Job Requirements
- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Banking or Credit Insurance markets involving underwriting and/or placements.
- Strong credit analysis and structuring skills.
- Deep understanding of Credit Specialties Markets and insurance products.
- Proficiency in insurance documentation and policy wordings.
- Strong relationships with market players such as brokers and insurance counterparties.
- Proven sales focus and closure skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Self-driven with a positive attitude.
