Job Description

In Asia Pacific, Brookfield manages capital on behalf of global banks, regional banks, securities firms, and independent wealth managers. A specialist team for private wealth in Asia Pacific is responsible for growing, servicing, and supporting these investors across the region.

We are seeking a Vice President to join the Brookfield Singapore office. This Vice President will have existing relevant client relationships, strong presentation skills, excellent attention to detail and a know-how of client account management responsibilities to drive wealth management sales results across the Southeast Asia region, in turn, contributing to business priorities and also be responsible for the highest quality of client servicing and sales support duties within the team.

The role will represent the full spectrum of Brookfield and Oaktree’s investment capabilities including our private funds (close and open ended), liquid public securities solutions and evergreen vehicles.

Job Purpose

This role will focus on fundraising and sales efforts within the SEA region. The candidate will be responsible for client servicing and sales support to distributors for BOWS products. The primary client focus will be on Singapore-based private wealth distributors and, in addition, to help with the Southeast Asian regional business. The candidate should have a desire to develop an entrepreneurial style of business development and sales skills within a top tier Alternative asset manager.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales and client activity in SEA via meetings, events and regular engagement.
  • Engage and work on product due diligence discussions and idea generation with distributors.
  • Work on sales campaigns, events and road shows.
  • Carry out product related presentations at a high level of competency and effectiveness.
  • Provide timely client support to SEA distributors.
  • Identify business opportunities, collect market intelligence, build new relationships with clients/prospects, collect industry information.
  • Lead and run product/client onboarding projects for relevant accounts.
  • Collaborate with functional teams and service providers to ensure clients’ requests and questions get addressed timely and properly.

  • Internal – Colleagues from BOWS, Investments, Global Client Group, Marketing, Investor Relations, Project Management Teams, Legal and Compliance, HR, Finance and more.
  • External – Private wealth/intermediary distributors within Singapore and Southeast Asia.

Qualification/Experience Required

  • Relevant client facing experience within the private wealth management channels.
  • At least 7 years’ experience in client facing roles for the private wealth/intermediary sales channel.
  • Solid financial product knowledge, experience in alternatives is a plus.
  • A passion for the markets and having a growth mindset.
  • Great attention to detail, strong work ethics and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to stretch into any area and take ownership of delegated tasks to support team’s goals.
  • A multi-tasker that can prioritize and manage their time effectively.
  • Strong team player, collaborative nature.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Appropriate degree in business/accounting/finance.
  • Fluent in Mandarin and English.
  • Outstanding relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with respect to managing workload and new business origination.
  • Experience working in an international organisation and willingness to be flexible with hours.
