Your Job

As the Vice Plant Manager, Operations, you will oversee efficient plant operations, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with global quality standards. You will utilize your technical expertise to address manufacturing challenges, develop strategic plans to achieve operational goals, and lead high-performing teams. Your focus will include cost optimization, customer satisfaction, sustainability integration, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Our Team

You will be part of the Datacom and Specialty Solutions (DSS) Division, reporting to the Senior Director, Operations. The role involves regular interaction with internal teams across Molex-related departments, as well as external stakeholders such as customers, suppliers, vendors, and other Molex entities. This collaborative environment supports the achievement of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

Plant Operations Management
  • Ensure the efficient year-on-year operations of the plant while maintaining competitive standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall productivity and operational effectiveness.
  • Maintain quality standards by ensuring parts meet QAP/QN requirements and cost targets.
  • Achieve and sustain certifications necessary for global quality compliance.
  • Optimize utilization of machines and presses through improvements in manufacturing, planning, and quality systems.
  • Support ramp-up activities for new products, capacity expansions, and operational enhancements.
Technical Expertise and Decision-Making
  • Provide expert problem-solving support for connector manufacturing processes.
  • Tackle technical challenges effectively across all connector manufacturing processes.
  • Periodically challenge and refine departmental processes to ensure operational excellence.
  • Maintain strong communication channels with executive-level contacts and other stakeholders.
Revenue and Cost Management
  • Collaborate with related departments to achieve revenue and profit targets.
  • Enhance cost competitiveness of product structures using continuous improvement programs and supplier cost reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Global Sales Marketing teams to ensure customer orders are fulfilled promptly and efficiently.
Customer Service Excellence
  • Deliver superior customer service by meeting and exceeding customer expectations in areas such as on-time delivery, flexibility, and lead-time management.
  • Actively promote Molex’s capabilities to project managers and customers to strengthen relationships and business opportunities.
Compliance and Sustainability
  • Ensure plant operations meet all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Integrate Molex’s sustainability initiatives into daily operational practices.
Strategic Planning and Execution
  • Develop and execute strategic plans with clear scheduling, timelines, investments, and milestones for plant operations.
  • Identify and escalate operational roadblocks while ensuring plant goals are achieved in a timely manner.
Leadership and People Development
  • Provide strong managerial leadership to oversee plant operations effectively.
  • Identify and nurture high-potential managers and employees while addressing development needs.
  • Implement technical and management training programs for Managers, Supervisors, and key employees.
  • Address and manage performance challenges to maintain a high-performing workforce.
