Job summary

Recruit 123 is assisting a veterinary clinic in Singapore to hire a Veterinary Surgeon. The role involves providing medical and surgical care to companion animals, with emphasis on compassionate client communication and high standards of patient care.

You will perform consultations, diagnostics, and surgeries, educate clients on health and nutrition, maintain medical records, and participate in CPD to keep skills current.

Qualifications

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine/Science from a recognised institution.
• Valid registration with the Singapore Veterinary Medical Board (or eligibility to obtain registration).
• Prior clinical experience in general practice preferred; new graduates may also be considered.
• Strong communication and client-service skills.
• Genuine passion for animal welfare and teamwork.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends/public holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain the health of animals through preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of sick and injured patients.
• Perform consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures for dogs, cats, and other companion animals.
• Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare, general care, medical conditions, and treatment options.
• Communicate promptly and effectively with clients regarding the progress of hospitalised patients and laboratory results.
• Educate clients on zoonotic diseases and infections transferable from animals to humans.
• Liaise closely with fellow veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure continuity of patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
• Undertake regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain and enhance veterinary skills and knowledge.
• Support euthanasia procedures with compassion and professionalism where required.

Our client operates a full-service veterinary practice offering consultations, hospitalisation, surgery, and diagnostics for companion animals. They are looking for a compassionate and skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join their growing team.
