Job summary

MPA Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore seeks Vessel Traffic Information System (VTIS) officers to manage busy port traffic in the Singapore Strait. The role involves a 3-rotation shift pattern, radio communication with vessels, and duties including distress watch and incident response.

Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive traineeship to equip the necessary maritime operations skills. Shortlisting will follow selection processes.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with the ability to convey precise information.
• Strong service orientation with a courteous demeanour to port users.
• Willing to work a 3 rotating shift (≈8 hours per shift) including weekends and public holidays.
• Willing to be rotated to various locations in the East and West of Singapore.

Responsibilities

• Join a dynamic team of Vessel Traffic Information System (VTIS) officers.
• Communicate with vessels on VHF radio to provide traffic information.
• Perform distress watch keeping and respond to marine incidents.
