  • Deliver meteorological and oceanographic forecasts and observational data to vessels.
  • Provide guidance to captains for Passage Planning before departure and during ocean crossings.
  • Assist captains in logging into the company’s platform and support route calculation setup.
  • Enter routing parameters based on the captain’s preferences, when required.

  • Utilize the company’s software to optimize voyage routing for all vessels.
  • Consider vessel-provided observations to refine and comment on forecast accuracy.
  • Conduct analyses of forecast and observation data to create post-voyage reports, including support for claim justifications.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on the company’s software and assisting with operational tasks.

Vessel Performance Monitoring

  • Oversee the operational performance of vessels, offering proactive alerts and recommendations in line with company standards (e.g., sensor faults, fuel overuse, inefficiencies).
  • Coordinate collection of vessel specifications and historical data for calibrating performance models, with support from data scientists if necessary.
  • Maintain communication with clients regarding missing or delayed data, data quality, and sensor issues to enhance overall model accuracy.
  • Evaluate performance data (real-time, periodic, and post-voyage) and offer technical recommendations to improve environmental and economic efficiency.
  • Drive corrective measures for data issues, whether software- or hardware-related.
  • Keep vessel performance records updated and accessible for stakeholders.
