A well-established shipowner in Singapore seeks a proactive Vessel Energy Optimization Manager to enhance decarbonization efforts. The role involves optimizing fuel efficiency through route planning and data analytics, ideal for candidates with sea-going experience and strong analytical skills.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Vessel Energy Optimization Manager for a well-established shipowner headquartered in Singapore. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the companys decarbonization and performance optimization efforts by leveraging route planning, data analytics, and operational support.
The ideal candidate should have sea-going experience as a Chief Engineer or Master, preferably on container vessels, and a strong interest in performance improvement. Experience in cargo planning or vessel management would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Lead initiatives to improve fuel efficiency through voyage optimization, including route planning, ballast control, and speed management.
Evaluate routing recommendations from solution providers and propose alternatives aligned with internal operational constraints.
Ensure timely and accurate submission of weekly performance reports; validate data thoroughly and resolve discrepancies proactively.
Contribute to the development of analytical tools and dashboards to support performance monitoring and decision-making.
Monitor severe weather systems (e.g. tropical storms, cyclones) and provide guidance to vessels to ensure safety, avoid delays, and reduce bunker consumption.
Provide real-time analytical support during crisis management events involving the fleet.
Perform deep-dive analyses into vessel and port performance to identify operational bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
Use data trends to detect recurring issues and generate actionable insights, contributing to continuous improvement with a learning mindset.
Key Requirements
Holds a Class 1 Certificate of Competency with sea-going experience as a Chief Engineer or Master, preferably on container vessels.
Prior experience in shore-based cargo planning or as a Vessel Manager will be an added advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and experienced in creating and customizing dashboards using platforms such as Power BI or Tableau.
Comfortable working in a 12-hour shift environment, with the ability to manage time-sensitive operational tasks effectively.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
