Vessel Manager (Combination Carrier)

OSM Thome is seeking a Vessel Manager to join our combination carrier fleet based in our Oslo office; this role is ideal for someone eager to contribute their technical expertise to a highly respected company in ship management. Role Overview: As a Vessel Manager, you’ll lead all aspects of technical management for the vessel under your responsibility, from engineering solutions to operational strategies, ensuring safe, efficient, crew, and cost-effective vessel operations that meet our high standards of performance.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage all technical and financial aspects of vessel operations.
2. Oversee maintenance plans and budgets, including planning for yard stays and docking.
3. Ensure compliance with class and flag state requirements.
4. Coordinate day-to-day operations, bridging communication between vessels, management, and clients.
5. Drive performance management of the top four officers on board.

Qualifications:

1. Higher education in marine technology or engineering (MSc/BSc) with relevant experience in technical ship management.
2. Alternatively, background as a marine engineer or navigational officer or experience in a similar role as a Vessel Manager/Superintendent.
3. Experience with vessel types, preferably combination carriers.
4. Proficient in English (written and verbal).
5. Strong computer skills and knowledge of maintenance systems.
