Job summary

INNERGY CONSULTING PTE. LTD. is seeking a Vessel IT Engineer to join the IT Department. The role focuses on managing, supporting, maintaining, and upgrading onboard IT infrastructure across the company’s vessels.

You will provide remote IT support to vessels and crew, with on-board support as needed, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure secure and reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 2-5 years of IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Windows Server, Windows 10, Hyper-V, Active Directory, antivirus solutions, network switches, UPS, firewalls and backup/storage systems.
• Experience supporting or implementing cybersecurity solutions is preferred.
• Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, data cabling, and WiFi infrastructure.
• Exposure to ship automation systems will be an advantage.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and perform under pressure.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.
• Comfortable working in remote environments with limited support.
• Strong team player with flexibility to support after-hours operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote IT support to vessels and crew, with onboard support when required.
• Install, maintain, and optimize onboard IT infrastructure including networks, servers, workstations, satellite/radio communications, firewalls, and storage.
• Support design, implementation, and continuous improvement of vessel IT infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, availability and reliability.
• Perform remote and onboard upgrades, patching, and network maintenance.
• Liaise with vendors, service providers, and internal IT teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain IT security, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Handle L1 helpdesk escalations and provide technical resolutions.
• Participate in an on-call roster for after-hours and weekend support.
• Travel onboard vessels for audits and ad-hoc IT support when required.
