Job description

Overall Job Purpose

The Venue Manager is required to manage the operations, maintenance, scheduling and bookings for the BMX Track located at Keat Hong Link, Chua Chu Kang Avenue 7.

In this role, you will be required to ensure that the SCF BMX Track Usage Conditions and Fee Schedule are strictly adhered to. In addition, you will be required to secure bookings, liaise with Accredited Training Partners, affiliate clubs, private coaches, and coordinate the logistics of the community programmes to be organised.

Ultimately, as a Venue Manager, you are expected to anticipate all logistics and requirements for events and programmes to ensure the facility generates profit for the SCF.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be familiar, be able to deploy/operate and ensure maintenance and upgrade of:

o The BMX and Pump Tracks

o the Race Timing System

o the Integrated Venue Booking, Event Registration & Programme System

o the BMX Start Gate and Floodlights

  • Manage all bookings and scheduling of programmes
(Primary Reference Documents: SCF’s Financial Policy, Fee Schedule, Accredited Training Partner Agreement)
  • Ensure that the SCF Accredited Training Partners and private coaches conduct programmes in accordance to agreed conditions
  • Check qualifications of users of the BMX Track (Eg. Coaches are NROC registered etc)
  • Manage and maintain an inventory of equipment stored at the BMX Track.

  • Ensure proper use of BMX Track (Eg. No skateboard, Mountain bikes etc), Pump Track, Floodlights, BMX Start Gate
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocol. For e.g. (a) All participants to have and use a Full-face helmet, gloves, long sleeves and long pants, covered shoes), (b) all Accredited Training Partners to conduct risk assessment and develop risk management plans and etc.
  • Report any incidents on the track (to SCF’s GM)
  • Closely monitor utilities usage (water and electricity) and payments required through SCF’s Finance Manager or Admin Manager

Perform the role of SCF’s primary point of contact especially with Brickland Citizens Consultative Committee (CCC), the BMX Affiliate Clubs and Schools


Planning and Management


To plan for and manage the administrative, maintenance and logistical needs of the facility, scheduling of participants and usage request by private operators of BMX Racing Programmes, appointment of part-time coaches, community outreach especially with Brickland CCC, preparation of related reports.

Collaborate with different teams within SCF, SNOC, HPSI (High Performance Sports Institute) etc and, measure and report on performance and assess KPIs and ROI.


Budget Management

To develop a budget for the facility in consultation with the SCF General Manager and ensure that plans and programmes are run in accordance to it.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A recognized Academic or Technical Qualifications would be considered.

EXPERIENCE

  • Has developed and implemented a successful business plan / managed a sports facility or academy with proven track record of achieving participation and revenue growth.
  • worked with young children, youth or adults in a sport setting e.g. as a coach, event facilitator.
  • 3 to 5 years relevant experience in the field of venue/facility management, marketing, sponsorship and or community outreach with a proven track record of securing sponsorships in-kind, cash sponsorships, monetizing assets.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Good writing and presentation skills.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the local and international sporting eco-system.
  • IT skills to include an excellent level of competence for e.g. MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, Canva, Design and Graphics Software and Tools.
