Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vendor Operations Manager to lead and oversee our team of Vendor Operations Associates (VOA). This role is critical in ensuring effective vendor management, timely material procurement, optimal inventory levels, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring leadership capabilities, strong vendor management experience, and the ability to drive process improvements and team performance in a dynamic supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage the Vendor Operations team, ensuring high levels of performance, engagement, and professional development.
Develop and implement vendor service strategies to enhance vendor relationships, ensure timely procurement, and improve delivery performance.
Monitor, analyze, and report on vendor performance (e.g., on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness) and take proactive steps to address continuous issues.
Oversee the validation and conversion of Purchase Requests (PR) to Purchase Orders (PO), ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., logistics, warehouse, sales) to ensure alignment of vendor services with business requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in vendor service processes, inventory management, and order fulfillment efficiency.
Ensure compliance with company, departmental, and regulatory policies, maintaining high standards of operational integrity and reporting.
Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting vendor performance trends, inventory health, and key operational metrics.
Manage escalations related to vendor delays, reschedules, or quality concerns, working collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; advanced certification (e.g., APICS, ISM) is a plus.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain, procurement, or vendor management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience using data to drive decisions and process improvements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP systems; experience with supply chain or procurement software is advantageous.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of supply chain best practices, vendor management strategies, and inventory optimization techniques.
