A key opportunity has arisen for an actuary in a dynamic global firm, contributing to the APAC L&H business. The role includes preparing actuarial valuations, maintaining models, and ensuring compliance with various standards. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and 5-7 years of relevant experience, with a focus on developing expertise within the valuation team.
Overall Summary: The job holder will be a key contributor to different reserving activities across the APAC L&H business.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and support the quarterly actuarial valuation of APAC L&H business under various reporting bases (US GAAP, SII, IFRS17, MAS, HK RBC, VIF, BMA)
• Maintain documentation of methodologies, processes, procedures, controls and results
• Set up and maintain actuarial valuation models for various lines of business with a focus on DMTM business
• Monitoring and tracking of DMTM business including reconciliation of cedant accounts/data against marketing companies campaign data
• Prepare the quarterly APAC valuation result review and reporting
• Support continuous enhancement in processes and controls
• Provide support for both internal and external audits
• Develop technical knowledge (product, assumptions, regulation, industry trends) and become an expert within the Valuation team
• Support the annual Experience Studies and Assumptions setting process
• Support the APAC Chief Actuary and Senior Valuation Actuaries on ad-hoc projects
Technical Skills/Competencies:
• Fully qualified/nearly qualified actuary
• Knowledge of AXIS/R would be an advantage
• Proficiency in English

Work Experience:
• Degree holder with 5-7 years’ actuarial experience in Life (re)insurance
