Job summary

Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) seeks a Research Fellow/Research Engineer with strong HCI and social science methodologies to lead user research and policy development within the Centre for Immersification. The role involves reviewing reporting guidelines, evaluating user responses to mechanisms, and collaborating with industry partners and CCDS labs at NTU on national initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and social science methodologies.
• Ability to design and execute surveys and interviews to collect data.
• Review existing safety guidelines and moderation tools for online platforms.
• Develop policy recommendations based on research findings.
• Experience leading research projects and reporting results.

Responsibilities

• Manage the research project with PI/Co-PI and team to meet deliverables.
• Review literature, safety policies, community standards, and moderation tools in online platforms.
• Design and execute surveys and interviews including participant recruitment.
• Perform statistical analysis on data and thematic analysis on transcripts.
• Lead dissemination via publications and international conferences/journals.
• Develop policy recommendations from findings.
• Conduct risk assessment and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate procurement and liaise with vendors.
• Work independently and in teams to maintain equipment and operations.
