Lonza Singapore is currently looking to hire a Utilities Specialist to join our Engineering team. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of site-wide utility systems in our cGMP manufacturing environment to ensure zero unplanned downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily routine and repair work orders as assigned.
  • Ensure all routine maintenance works are carried out as scheduled and in compliance with engineering standards and procedures.
  • Perform shift work and respond on-call for maintenance, service, breakdowns, and support ongoing operations.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, carry out basic repairs, or report issues to the Supervisor.
  • Supervise vendors and service providers activities for routine utilities and maintenance to ensure equipment remains operational.
  • Work with the supervisor to manage site utility systems.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections to monitor utility status.
  • Execute or supervise repairs and upgrades to minimize disruption to production schedules.
  • Apply and close work permits with Area/System Owners for vendors and service providers.
  • Maintain all site utilities in optimum condition in compliance with GMP and EHS requirements, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately and processed fully.
  • Report non-compliance issues such as work delays, breakdowns, or missing parts to the Supervisor/Manager.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma or relevant National Trade Certificate with experience in utility systems within the Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Food, or Nutrition industries.
  • 3-7 years of relevant experience; able to perform 12-hour shifts and be on-call as needed.
  • Certified Boiler Attendant or Steam Engineer certification is beneficial but not essential.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-conscious.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and instructions diligently.
  • Capable of performing operational checks daily.
