Job description
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the company’s import and export activities comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role is responsible for monitoring compliance, preparing documentation, liaising with authorities, and advising management on compliance matters.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data to support merchandise classification and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor and coordinate with forwarders, distribution centres, transport providers, and local/overseas customers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Gather and review compliance-related information to identify risks and track project/product status.
  • Stay up to date with compliance requirements in assigned geographies, particularly across APAC.
  • Create, implement, and maintain procedures to ensure consistency and accuracy in import and export processes.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Assess and respond to compliance-related inquiries or client concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal/external legal teams and provide guidance to leadership on compliance issues.
  • Liaise with government agencies for compliance matters, including strategic permit applications and renewals.
  • Develop training programs to educate employees on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems.
  • Maintain and update compliance-related records, data, and SOPs.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve irregularities, violations, or risks, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice to senior management on compliance strategies and best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of compliance.
