Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Supervisor to join our Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the accounts department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting the Finance Manager in managing accounting systems and compliance. You will also lead and mentor junior finance staff, helping to foster a collaborative and efficient team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and guide Accounts Assistants, Officers, and Executives in daily operations.

  • Review and ensure the accuracy of invoices, statements, and GST submissions.

  • Oversee bank reconciliations, audit reports, journal entries, and supplier payments.

  • Monitor monthly account closing deadlines for debtors and creditors.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements.

  • Coordinate the preparation of financial documents for AGMs/EOGMs.

  • Manage cash collections and ensure timely deposits.

  • Supervise handover processes for new assignments and oversee coverage for staff on leave.

  • Serve as the point of contact for internal problem-solving between the finance and operations teams.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial procedures.

  • Familiar with GST reporting and Section 47(1)(c) certificates (preferred).

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Able to manage deadlines and work independently with attention to detail.
