Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Assistant Housekeeper, the Uniform Attendant will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, proper organization, and maintenance of all uniforms and related supplies. This role is crucial in ensuring that all staff have clean and well-maintained uniforms for a professional appearance, helping to maintain high standards of hygiene and presentation across the hotel.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Attend pre-shift meeting and receive uniform requirements and cleaning instructions.
  • Ensure uniforms are collected, sorted, and cleaned as per hotel standards.
  • Maintain an inventory of all uniforms and ensure that there are sufficient supplies for staff members.
  • Inspect all uniforms for damages and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Ensure uniforms are folded, organized, and distributed on time to the appropriate departments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the uniform storage area, ensuring all uniforms are easily accessible.
  • Monitor the cleanliness of uniforms throughout the day, performing any necessary touch-ups or re-cleaning as required.
  • Handle laundry requests for uniforms, ensuring items are properly sorted, washed, dried, and ironed.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of cleaning supplies and detergents used for uniform maintenance.
  • Ensure that all uniforms are returned to staff members in a timely manner.
  • Report any uniform-related issues, including missing items, defects, or complaints, to the Assistant Housekeeper immediately.
  • Maintain the laundry equipment in good working condition and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Adhere to safety and security protocols related to the storage and handling of uniforms and cleaning supplies.
  • Follow workplace safety and security policies and report any accidents, injuries, or incidents to the security or talent & culture team immediately.
  • Participate and contribute actively in all Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability initiatives organized by the hotel.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned.

YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Physically fit as the role requires constant movement and handling of heavy uniform items.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage the uniform inventory and ensure timely distribution.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills for working with colleagues across various departments.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Flexible with working days and hours, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Positive service-oriented attitude with a focus on team collaboration.
