Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal Casualty business via Brokers channel.
  • Meet profit center and personal new business targets.
  • Assess the desirability of risk through regular contact with brokers, co-ordination with subject matter experts and reviews of claims history.
  • Servicing a personal portfolio of accounts and involvement in broker strategy and pipelining.
  • Build and maintain relationships with brokers to provide excellent service and expand the broker network.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders on complex risks to achieve objectives.
  • Contribute to Singapore and APAC projects as needed.
  • Identify business opportunities and convert ideas to product development and enhancements.
  • Enhance AIG's standing and market profile.
  • Provide accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, and average/total premium.

How you will create an impact
  • This role will focus on underwriting new and renewal business to help drive the profitable growth of our Casualty business across Public/Products Liability, WICA, Environmental Impairment Liability and Product Recall via the Brokers channel.

  • Strive to meet profit center and personal new business budget targets.

  • You will be responsible for assessing the desirability of risk through regular contact with brokers, close co-ordination with AIG subject matter experts and robust reviews of claims history and general company information.

  • You will be servicing a personal portfolio of accounts and be involved in broker strategy setting and pipelining.

  • Your relationships with brokers will be key to your success. You will need to provide excellent service to brokers through a consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting. You will also aim to generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market – in line with a sales plan established with your manager.

  • Partner internal stakeholders - Actuarial, Claims, etc. on complex risks and to achieve corporate objectives.

  • Contribute to Singapore and APAC projects when necessary.

  • Identify business opportunities and convert ideas to reality through product development and enhancement.

  • Enhance and build on AIG's standing and profile in the market.

  • Another key aspect of the role is the provision of accurate monthly management information including submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium.
