This is your opportunity to make an impact in a dynamic sector—covering upstream energy risks, including the fast-growing field of offshore renewables.

You’ll play a key role in analyzing and underwriting risks, engaging with the market, and delivering exceptional customer service. Using The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework, you’ll tackle assignments of moderate technical complexity, with support when you need it and the freedom to shine.

At Zurich, we are committed to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. If you’re ready to embrace new challenges and contribute to a brighter future, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite and manage a portfolio of upstream energy risks, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Assess and analyze risk exposures, pricing, and terms and conditions to ensure profitable underwriting decisions.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including other Upstream Energy Hubs, Claims, and Risk Engineering, to deliver tailored, comprehensive solutions.
  • Conduct market research and stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and competitive landscape.
  • Negotiate and structure insurance policies to meet client needs while maintaining profitability.
  • Prepare and present underwriting proposals, reports, and recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor and review the performance of the upstream energy portfolio, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Represent Zurich at industry events, conferences, and training sessions, enhancing your expertise and building our brand.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience underwriting upstream energy risks within the commercial insurance sector.
  • Strong technical underwriting skills and a thorough understanding of upstream energy risks and exposures.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
