We are now hiring the following positions

UNDERWRITER ASSISTANT, ENERGY AND POWER

Job Summary:

Assist in the day to day operation of the Energy underwriting team and support to the Underwriting Manager, Energy with day to day and project activities as required.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration

To contribute to the performance of the Energy team through ensuring compliant and clear processes are adhered to in a consistent manner.

· Provide daily operational support to the team of Underwriting Manager and 2x Underwriters.

· Assist the Credit Control team in chasing of outstanding debts in line with premium payment conditions.

· Monitor, track and report Facultative Reinsurance purchasing to central operations team

· Complete entries into CRM (Customer Relationship Management) database in order to identify cross-sell opportunities.

· Complete KYC (know-your-client) analysis including sanctions, compliance and Global Risk Flagging (to HO) checks.

· Complete minutes for internal Energy team meetings and store in the appropriate file structure

· Assist in the recording of technical premium levels (Underwriting Work Bench – UWWB) and underwriting overview for active portfolio.

· Assist with calculations for underwriting new business and renewals through the premium rating systems, performing the initial rating for all accounts.

· Assist in peer reviews and file audit.

Underwriting

Contribute to a profitable portfolio of business by developing an understanding of underwriting principals and disciplines through discussions and research. Assist in the growth objectives of the portfolio by identifying opportunities and performing delegated tasks.

· Identify referral triggers according to HDI Global Underwriting Guidelines and local branch underwriting authority.

· Support Underwriters in completing risk assessments with functional support to Claims and Risk Engineering (HRC)

· Review of policy wordings.

· Assist in the recording of technical premium levels for active portfolio.

· Assist with calculations for underwriting new business and renewals through the premium rating systems, performing the initial rating for all accounts.

Requirements:

· Degree or Diploma in any discipline

· Has a minimum of 5 years insurance operations experience

· Excellent communication skills – verbal / written

· Highly numerate and organized and keen attention to detail
